i am ear offers a range of Tinnitus & Hearing Therapies. A diagnostic consultation will be able to focus on the areas of your difficulties and then we will be able to tailor-make a plan for you.
Diagnostic Consultation
This is an appointment to provide information about your hearing difficulties. Many people do not know what help is available to them or which specialist to see first. This initial consultation is divided into three parts: understanding your hearing history; understanding your communication difficulties; and identifying a tailor-made management plan for you. This initial consultation can be face-to-face or online.
Tinnitus Workup
This is a diagnostic appointment to assess your tinnitus and hearing. The work up will consist of the following diagnostic tests (unless a contraindication is identified): – pure tone audiogram, tympanometry, loudness discomfort level, tinnitus match and mask, otoacoustic emissions, diagnostic stapedial reflexes.
Communication Workup
This is a diagnostic appointment to assess your communication difficulties. The work up will consist of the following diagnostic tests (unless a contraindication is identified) : – pure tone audiogram, tympanometry, speech test and Quicksin.
Retraining Sessions
Appointments to help you retrain your ears after we have identified the areas of your communication difficulties. This can involve, but not limited to, mindfulness, meditation, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Sound Therapy, LACE, Sleep Hygiene. These appoints can be face-to-face or online.
Amplification Package
Tinnitus and other hearing difficulties may occur due to an underlying hearing loss. Hearing aids are available to help relieve the presence of your hearing difficulties. Using a hearing aid or combination aid may help relieve your difficulties.
Sound Generator Package
Tinnitus and other hearing difficulties may occur without an underlying hearing loss. Sound Generator aids are available to help relieve the presence of your hearing difficulties.
Hearing Aid Reprogramming for Complicated Hearing Losses
Unfortunately many people purchase hearing aids which are not correctly set up for the specific needs of the individual. i am ear is happy to take on your hearing aid care. There is a cost for each appointment unless you take out one of i am ear‘s Annual Hearing Aid Care Package.
Annual Hearing Aid Care Package for Complicated Hearing Losses
With this Hearing Aid Care Package i am ear offers up to 10 appointments for the fine tuning of your hearing aid(s). This is suitable for patients who have complicated hearing issues, such as tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia, who require an intensive care package.
